Ying
Qian was born in Shanghai, The Peoples Republic of China, in
1976. In 1999, she took her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the
Finance Department at Fudan University, Shanghai. From 1999 to 2001
Ying worked as an auditor for a Public Accountant office in Shanghai,
from where she moved on to the Shanghai Hewlett-Packard Co., in the
position of a financial analyst. Her tasks included the analysis of
the performance forecast and expenses, as well as the software system
administration for the financial and planning department.
In 2002, Ying Qian took up Master studies at the University of Bergen in
Norway and graduated in 2004 as a Master of Philosophy in System
Dynamics. Her main field of research was within System Dynamics
applied to interactive learning environments and national financing
planning.
On returning to Shanghai in 2004, Ying Qian joined the Brand Commercial
Team at Unilever Service Hefei Company as an Assistant Manager, where
she has been in charge of setting up yearly forecasts on sales volume
and revenues and analyzing and evaluating marketing development costs
and project plans.
Ying Qian's PhD project is part of the
AMBASEC project. AMBASEC
stands for A Model-Based Approach to Security.
