Curriculum Vitae

Stefanie Hillen was born in Mainz, Germany, in 1966. In 1993 she graduated from Mainz University, holding a diploma in Business Education and Vocational Training. Since then, Stefanie Hillen has been involved in various research projects and teaching assignments at Mainz University, the Ministry for Education, Sciences and Further Education of Rhineland-Palatinate and other institutions concerned with educational training.

Stefanie Hillen received her PhD in Business Education and Vocational Training   (Dr. rer. pol.) at Mainz University in 2003. In her thesis, she explores learning processes of pupils and students in system dynamics based learning environments. In particular, she analyzes the learning outcomes over time and the acquired level of knowledge respectively.

Since 2003, Stefanie Hillen has been employed at the Teacher Training Center Wiesbaden, Germany, successfully completing her educational training as vocational teacher in October 2005.

Stefanie Hillen’s postdoctoral research with Security and Quality in Organizations is part of the AMBASEC-project, where she is exploring the learning chances and results concerning information security. This will be facilitated by using a system dynamics approach in the context of group model building activities. The focus of her research will be on eliciting the shared mental models of the people involved.
