Curriculum
Vitae
Johannes Wiik was born in Halmstad, Sweden, in 1973 but moved to
Norway already in 1976. He first started his career in the Norwegian
army finishing Officer candidate school in the cavalry in 1993.
Thereafter he served with the armed forces in 1993-1994. From
1994-2001 he studied at the University of Bergen, Norway. He graduated
from the University of Bergen, as cand. polit. (equivalent to master)
in 2001 at the Department of Information Science. His research was
focused on learning in system dynamics based interactive learning
environments, and a large portion of this research was done at the
University of Seville, Spain, as an exchange student in 1999-2000.
From 2000-2002, Johannes Wiik held a number of positions in the
consulting group of Powersim AS, including leading the group. Thus, he
gained experience in delivering system dynamics based strategic
decision support tools in a wide range of industries all over the
world such as digital television, mobile telephones, offshore, energy,
pharmaceuticals, banking, energy, mining just to mention a few.
In 2003 he worked as an advisor in Nutec Crisis Management AS mostly
providing training for safety organisations in the offshore and
shipping industries. He also worked as an international free lance
consultant until he started on his PhD research in the fall of 2003.
His current research focus is addressing factors that influence the
effectiveness of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs).
In this research, he cooperates closely with DFN-CERT in Germany as
well as with CERT/CC in the United States.
