Curriculum Vitae

Bjørn Roalkvam was born in Stavanger, Norway, in 1980. He is now finishing his 5 year plan towards Masters in Information Systems, at Agder University College in Grimstad. He also has some in-depth study courses in mobile communication.

From an early age he was introduced to computers and is a son of an engineer working in the oil industry, this has had its effects on his interests which now lie in computer technology, the oil and gas industry progress, training, diving, travelling and social life.

His bachelor project consisted of creating a history course timeline animation for Kvadraturen Secondary School in Kristiansand. By clicking on important years the students could access relevant facts and occurrences shown through animation as aid in learning the course.

He is currently taking his Master degree in the topic “Patching policies and organizational boundaries in the transition to Integrated Operations”. His main tasks include information management and supporting the modelling process of a SD-model.

When it comes to future workplace he views the petroleum’s industry as a tempting and interesting area which could lead to a variation of work tasks and work locations. In particular IO is an exciting field, the integration of different networks not only in IO but all organizations, create large security issues which he would like to look more into.
