Curriculum Vitae

Agata Sawicka was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1974. She graduated summa cum laude, with Master of Science and Engineering degrees in information systems and management, from Technical University of Warsaw, Poland, in 1998.

In Spring of 1999 she was working as a software test engineer at Microsoft European Product Development Centre in Dublin, Ireland. From 2000 to 2004 she was employed as a doctoral student at Agder University College in Grimstad, Norway. In 2004 she received a Ph.D. degree from University of Bergen, Norway. In her doctoral dissertation she applied system dynamics and experimental approach to explore psychological mechanisms of individual compliance. The investigations were carried out in the context of IT-based work environments.

Since July 2004 she has been a postdoctoral fellow at Agder University College in Grimstad, working on the research project investigating communication of system dynamics models to a broader audience. The postdoctoral research project is funded by the Research Council of Norway.

Her current research interests include learning about complex and dynamic phenomena with system dynamics models and psychological mechanisms governing human behavior in risky environments.
