ONE Portable Player
Description Dependencies Download

Description: This is a midlet implementing UPnP AV functionality. Specifly it supports:
  • Control point: Controls Media Servers and Media Renderers. This allows you to play media discovered on one media server on a media renderer.

  • Media Server: Let you share a folder on your device to be used by other UPnP entities on the network. It recognizes these file types: MP3 (.mp3), JPEG (.jpg) and Powerpoint (.ppt).

  • Media Renderer: Let you use the multimedia capabilities on your device to render media from media servers.

Dependencies:

In addition to the J2ME environment it needs a TCP/IP connection, e.g. provided by Wi-Fi, to communicate.

AUC Low Power Proxy for .NET Framework 2.0
Description Dependencies Download

Description: This application runs on Microsoft Windows XP and helps applications running on devices where conservation of energy consumption is important by taking care of some of the work related to service discovery in UPnP.

Specificly it let the user monitor for SSDP notifications from one or more IP-adresses. When a notification is received from such a monitored IP-adress the application will store the information received. Later when a search request is received the application will answer to that based on the information obtained later from the SSDP request received from the device.

This application was manily developed to overcome an issue with J2ME CLDC. This issue is that J2ME CLDC does not support multicast properly. It do allow an application to send requests to multicast addresses, such as a SSDP SEARCH request. But it does not allow an application to receive requests from multicast addresses, such as SSDP NOTIFY requests. Through this proxy this limitation is worked around.
